FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW LONG DOES THERAPY TAKE?
A common misconception about therapy is how “fast” things work, or how quickly changes will happen. It takes time for your brain to form new connections, new habits, and new ways of relating to things. Similar to water dripping into a bucket, if you look at the single drops it will not feel like a lot of water. Over time, the bucket will become more full as you leave the tap on - keep showing up for yourself.
WHAT IS THE OUTCOME?
The outcome depends largely on your willingness to participate and engage in the process, which can sometimes stir up uncomfortable feelings. There are no miracle cures, and I cannot promise you that your behavior or circumstances will change - that is up to you. I can promise to support you in every step on your journey, and help you discover and clarify what you want for yourself. You are not on this journey alone, and I want to support you as you become the most authentic version of yourself.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
Yes! I currently accept several insurance providers. I also have designated sliding-scale spots on my caseload that are available on a first-come first-serve basis for clients facing financial barriers. I would be happy to have a conversation with you to determine if there are any spots available and if you would be a good fit. Here are the insurances I currently accept:
Blue Cross Blue Shield
Mountain Health Co-Op
PacificSource
Allegiance / Cigna
